Flo-2D水利学计算正确性验证：在渠道稳态流，和现场实地勘测资料与HEC-2计算结果，比对流动深度与流速，有相当一致的结果。
Flo-2D可用来解运动简化之控制方程式，以求取水平面上，X轴方向之平均流速u、y轴方向之平均流速v与流动深度h。分析之数值地形为规则的方格点元素系统，每个元素只给定单一之高程值、粗糙系数和流动面积与宽度的折减因子，作为分析之地文因子系统。
FLO-2D is a flood routing model that simulates river, alluvial fan, urban and coastal flooding.
